Epiphone Guitars

The Epiphone is one of American’s oldest and most revered musical instrument manufacturers launched in 1873 by Anastasios Stathopoulos. Besides guitars, Epiphone also manufactured upright basses, banjos, and various stringed musical instruments, almost for every form of popular music. The brand stands for either history and the spirit of invention.

The Epiphone series took place within the NAMM trade event in July 1958 with the electric Emperor. The show itself would make purchases of 226 guitars and 63 amplifiers. Through the next few years, Epiphone would provide 3,798 musical instruments in 1961 through 1965, made 20% of the overall musical instruments delivered out from Kalamazoo. More remarkable was the reputation of the guitars themselves.

Global sales of Epiphone guitars was so high that the corporation started out a different factory in China in 2004
